What we promote

Main points of focus of the Novartis Foundation, formerly Ciba-Geigy Jubilee Foundation :

• Personal grants to finance young highly qualified researchers during postdoctoral research abroad
• Personal support of young highly qualified researchers during postdoctoral work on selected research projects at universities and clinics in Switzerland
• A precondition for all recipients of support is that they seek to continue their further career in Switzerland
• Grants may be awarded supplementary to partial scholarships from the Swiss National Science Foundation or other foundations, but not to full scholarships from other institutions

The foundation does not finance:

• Courses of study
• Theses
• Consumable or laboratory materials
• Allowances for family members of the sponsored persons
• Travel or participation costs for scientific congresses
• Study and matriculation fees
• Laboratory technicians and administrative staff
